The Good Old Days of Blogging...

I was reading back to some of my blog posts from 2006 and 2007 and had such a great time down memory lane.  It seems that when we first moved to Winnipeg and I was a lonely wife of a student and far away from parents that I put down a lot of just our everyday goings on and everyday thoughts on here.  Not to mention pictures!  I absolutely LOVED looking back at old pics of our kids, places we went and things we did together.
With the introduction of Facebook in my life I just find it so much easier to put a quick thought or memory or picture on there and I've missed putting on here and having those memories caught on my blog.  That makes me sad.
So, though I feel super out of practice and can't imagine anyone actually connecting to anything I write or post about our little life, I'm gonna go back to the good old days of blogging and capture those memories on here again.

Blog on! I have blogged something every day of 2011. It started off as a "Post every day in January" challenge and then I just kept going. I realized that the "nothingness" that was posting was more for me than for anyone else. Although I do enjoy getting comments, many days I don't get any. Before that would have discourage me from blogging but now I just remember that I blog to remember these days and the things that happen. I used to watch a bit of tv before going to bed and now I have exchanged that time for a bit of blogging each night. I think it's a much more productive use of my time because it helps me to reflect on the things going on in our life at that moment. I love the "other links" that show up at the bottom of my posts and I get to read what I wrote weeks, or even years, ago. I LOVE looking back on the posts I wrote long ago and seeing how I have changed and grown since that day. Maybe challenge yourself to post a little something every day for a set time just to get back in the swing. There truly is something to write about every day.

Yay! I always love reading your stories, and seeing new pictures of your family! And it is an amazing way to remember all of those sweet little things that are forgotten so quickly.

I often check your blog and read every entry more than once (especially when they include pictures :)

No post is ever too trivial....they are all interesting and besides, you write so well. So blog on girl. We'll be here to read and enjoy your stories!
