Looneyspoons Challenge...

A couple of years ago, my Mom was introduced to a Looneyspoons cookbook by my Auntie Jean.  In our family play-on-word type jokes are hilarious and so reminiscent of my Grandma's sense of humour.
Then a few months ago Mark was reading a business book and Looneyspoons was in there too.  He was impressed by their idea for a cookbook and the tenacity that they possessed when trying to sell a publisher on it.
Fast forward to my birthday last month and my Mom and Dad gave me a Looneyspoons Collection Cookbook.  As I read through it, Mark threw out a challenge to me, "what if you made all our lunches and suppers for a whole month out of there?"
I'm very good at shooting down ideas so immediately I balked and complained and exclaimed about how silly and impossible that would be.  But, I've lived with a visionary-type person for almost 15 years now and those little ideas he plants sometimes take root and grow.  I kept mulling it over and flipping through the book and finally decided to take the plunge...my way :)
The last few days of March I tried out a few recipes and the kids and us both loved them so I figured that was a good go-ahead to try out the first week.  So this week I planned 6 meals out of the cookbook and left 1 day open for left-overs or Easter dinner or whatever.  So far so good.  The recipes are healthy and creative and use lots of regular ingredients that I already have.  So far this week we've had "No Weigh Jose Mexican Lasagna" and "Greek is the Word-Greek pasta salad", both were YUMMY!
I think my bigger challenge is gonna be portion control!
(and no, they have no idea who I am andI was not put up to this for promotional reasons!)

Didn't they also have a TV show for a while? Or is that another duo?
